Condition Treated / Circulatory System Conditions

Circulatory System Function:

  • Carry oxygen from lungs to tissues and carbon dioxide from tissues to lungs there by aiding in the exchange of gases. Supply of oxygen is needed for proper functioning of the cells. Removal of carbon dioxide is also equally essentials it becomes toxic to cells when present in high amount.
  • Help in fighting against infections by the defence cells- the granulates
  • Prevent over bleeding by forming blood clot by the platelets.
  • Helps to maintain pH of the blood by buffering system present
  • Heat exchange through the body surface

The main components of the human cardiovascular system are the heart, blood, and blood vessels. It includes: the pulmonary circulation, a "loop" through the where blood is oxygenated; and the systemic circulation, a "loop" through the rest of the body to provide oxygenated blood. An average adult contains five to six quarts (roughly 4.7 to 5.7 liters) of blood, which consists of plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Also, the digestive system works with the circulatory system to provide the nutrients the system needs to keep the heart pumping.
