Auricular Acupuncture or Auricular Pellets
Auricular acupuncture is one of the acupuncture therapies used to prevent and treat diseases. It is done by needling or stimulating areas on the ear. It is easy and convenient for everyday use and has a wide range of indications. It can also be used as a supplementary diagnostic approach with a considerable clinical significance.
Acu-Magnets / Ear Pellets Treatment
Acupuncture points on the auricle only appear when there is some physical or functional disorder in the part of the body represented by that region of the ear. There is an orderly, anatomical arrangement of points, based upon the inverted fetus perspective of the body. The head areas are represented toward the bottom of the ear, the feet toward the top, and the body in between.
Since humankind's existence, magnets and many different metals have been used for balancing the body's energy. It has been found that when magnets or certain combinations of two dissimilar metals contact the body, a small electric current is generated termed the Polarity Agent Effect.
Some commonly used pairs of metals which exhibit this phenomenon include: gold/silver, copper/zinc, nickel/copper, and gold/aluminum. Magnets, by virtue of their natural north (-) and south (+) magnetic poles also exhibit this same phenomenon. In addition to polarity effects, small acu-magnets and small press pellets also provide continuous acupressure to the point. In total, the use of magnets and/or different metals and acupressure creates synergism.
The Distribution of Auricular Points
There exists some regularity in the distribution of auricular points. They are based on the upside down fetus distribution theory, which is explained below. Points related to the portions of the head are located on the ear lobe. Points related to the upper limbs are located on the scapha. Points related to the trunk and lower limbs are located on the body of the antihelix and the superior and inferior antihelex crus. Points related to the internal organs are located on the cavum and cymba conchae, while points related to the organs in the abdomen are located on the cymba concha; these particular points are related to the organs in the chest which are located on the cavum concha. Points related to the spine and trunk are located in the antihelix. Points related to the pelvic cavity are located in the triangular foss. Points related to the digestive tract are distributed around the helix crus. Points related to the urinary tract are located at the junction of the inferior antihelix crus and the cymba concha.
